Recipe Cocktail Shaker, Stainless Steel/Glass

Cocktail Shaker
This cocktail shaker meets our needs and has the added bonus of having painted level markings on the side of the glass. The stainless steel pour-top has a rubber grommet which seals great against the glass rim without any spills and the stainless topper fits tightly to the stainless pour-top so each shake is worry free.

The stainless pour-top has a recessed strainer integrated within the pour-top neck and provides a nice pour without a mess like other shakers which have the strainer integrated at the top of the neck.

The heavy glass bottom has well marked measurement lines and also has certain "popular" drink recipes printed along side. The ink does not rub off like other shakers have when washed by hand or by an automatic dishwasher.

overrated
there's a little suction ring soft plastic piece that allows the top to be closed on the glass without leaking the liquid. every time I close the top this jumps all over the place to the point where it's ineffective and i'm having to take it off, adjust that ring, carefully try it again, etc. i've never seen a shaker with an issue this bad. it's supposed to be there for when you want to close the top, but instead it makes closing the top more difficult

It leaks!
I was looking forward to this shaker and read the other reviews before choosing this one. I liked the idea of having recipes on the side and a glass body to see how the mixing was going. However there are two major flaws in the design of this model. Firstly, despite the rubber gasket, it leaks (a LOT) when you shake it and leaks even worse when you try to pour from it. However, when you want to remove the top, it refuses to budge. The second complaint I have is that the black writing on the glass comes off over your hands when you wash the shaker in warm or hot water. after one month, most of the writing has gone.
