It's a whistler all right:P
This thing is noisy from start to finish. My neighbor can hear the kettle go on through the wall and that's not even when the water is boiling. It's cheaply made and not worth the money.
Not sure yet
When this tea pot arrived I was so excited. The color is really cool- my husband who paints cars was even impressed with the paint on it. I put water in to do a first steam/clean and it never whistled. Then the whistle peice fell out! On the first try!! I have exchanged the original one and haven't been able to really use the replacement yet. I can only hope it works a little bit longer than the first one.
I miss my Kitchen-Aid kettle
I bought this after my Kitchen-Aid kettle bit the dust. I really wanted a kettle that could whistle... well, this kettle gave me a very faint whistle the first time I used it, and every subsequent use after that, the kettle has been silent. Such a disappointment! Oddly enough, I think this kettle takes LONGER to boil water than my ceramic Kitchen-Aid. You also have to be careful when opening the spout so you don't get burned. If you want something that holds water, this kettle will not fail to please. Unfortunately, I had slightly higher expectations for a WHISTLING tea kettle. I strongly recommend spending a little more for better quality!
