What the large print giveth, the small print taketh away....
This dish is beautiful! The shape is gorgeous and color is the perfect sky blue--just like the sky on a clear summer day. Why only three stars? Because the piece had small defects: dimples and a little dash where the blue color and glaze didn't cover the clay 100%. After doing some research, I think this piece is a second. On the EH website, they guarantee their "firsts" for 10 years, but they only guarantee their seconds for 3 years. Upon closer examination of the Amazon description, I see that it says the dish has a 3 year warranty, so it must be a second. I just wish they would state the condition of the dish upfront to be transparent and not cause customers to have to open an investigation into the product they just ordered. If the product description was transparent, I'd have given this piece 5 stars because I'd have gotten exactly what was described. Shipping was very quick (I have Amazon prime and it arrived in 1 day!) and the piece arrived intact, so no complaints...
Oven to Table Beauty
I bought this to replace my old clear pyrex baker for dishes that can't be turned out onto a serving dish. After 40 years I decided to treat myself to something beautiful. This fit the ticket. It's expensive, but the joy I receive was worth it. It looks great, cooks great and cleans up easily. I don't consider myself a "cook" but this makes it easy. I expect to enjoy many, many years of "cook and serve" from this piece, and it matches all my gray dishware and linens! I recommend this baker.
super durable & looks great
I love all the products I've purchased by Emile Henry, so it was a no brainer which brand to buy when I decided to buy some nice bakers. I've had a three bowl set by Emile Henry for at least a decade and they still look great. We really liked the figue color and the shape of this piece. It would look good in a variety of decors.
